I need to purge one of my storage units. Stuff I've just thrown in. Also going to do the drawer where we keep our large cooking spoons. There are so many items in there that I don't use. I always find myself reaching for the same few tongs and spoons.

This past Fall I remembered how much time I had wasted in the past going through all those little and larger zippered bags I had kept for packing " just in case. ". I gathered a box of them and donated them.

Now as I'm packing for the FL snowbird adventure, I have less to consider but there are some items still lurking in the corners. But, not for long !!!

Our garbage is picked up Saturday. We've gotten rid of an artificial Christmas tree, battery operated snowman and reindeer, plus DH has a garbage bag full of shredding from his den. Our garbage bin is full, but we'll keep plugging away and setting things aside for next week.

Have not really started in yet but today I did some filing and getting things lined up for taxes. I shredded a bunch of stuff last week and so will add to that bag this week with what I tossed today.

I have been off work since the Monday before Christmas and mostly just putting things back and doing a little extra cleaning. Organizing mostly.

I did a good job in 2025 moving stuff out.

I almost forgot I took some pictures to my brother today that I had gathered up from pictures that mom had. I had made envelopes with pictures for all my siblings years ago and he never got his. Forgot all about them and found the envelope today. He was thrilled.

I spent hours today removing photos from my phone. Some I moved to Shutterfly some just deleted.

I had a lot of recipe screen shots that I needed to decide to print them or realistically know I will never make that recipe. LOL.

I think my next project will be the pantry.

I started in my Christmas storage in my basement. I decided I do not need this much decor so I moved everything I will get rid of over to a long table while I am sorting through the rest. Im half way done with that room and its feeling good. I will let daughters see what they want first and then go from there.

@rnmom Thanks for the 2026 thread. Love reading here. Putting Christmas gifts, bags, receipt, wrapping stuff all away. My office is loaded with the kitchen wares, my kitchen is currently under construction, the granite team to come Tuesday to measure. I'm thankful my stove is now back in use. You don't realize how much you need it, until I didn't have it. Progress!

I washed any clothing thing items we got for Christmas. Then we went through DH's closet and threw out two shirts, a bathrobe, jeans, swim trunks, and a tee shirt with holes in it.
