Re: Declutter 2025: What Have You Purged Today?

[ Edited ]

I tossed a belt that was just about worn all the way thru. I was afraid it would literally tear into two pieces when I was wearing it one day.

Set aside to donate a brand new silicone face scrubber that I won't use.

My son took a few more things to his place.

It's been pretty quiet here lately. I will start another new Declutter thread for 2026 to help get us all motivated for the new year!

I set aside to donate a coffee cup, a carving tool and a santa hat. I want to go thru my Christmas ornaments when I put my Christmas stuff away, I know there are a few that can go.

I actually already tossed my wall calendar and I haven't replaced it. I don't feel like I ever used it. I'll see if I miss it, if I do I can grab one from Dollar Tree.

While cleaning up after our Christmas gathering, I went through my pantry, fridge/freezer and freezer in the garage.  Everything is now cleaned and organized and I based this week's grocery list on what we already have and plan to do that until we use up the stocked up food.

@rnmom

Thank you for starting this thread to help motivate us to do a better job living a clean and organized life. I am always inspired reading everyone's comments.

And thank you for committing to a new thread in 2026. I do have one big project that I intend to focus on in the new year and that is our storage room. It is located in our parking garage. I'm embarrassed to admit this, but I am kind of scared which is so silly, because our garage is secured and lit up like Times Square. I just think I have watched too many Lifetime movies where gruesome things often happen in a parking garage.😱 Wish me luck!

I hope everyone has a Happy New Year! If you have any 2026 projects, please share!

Re: Declutter 2025: What Have You Purged Today?

Hello decluttering people!

I haven't shared on this thread in a minute but I have been

upkeeping and trying to keep clutter at a minimum. I've been ok but could do better.

I recently had 2 leaks in my apartment due to that same negligent neighbor above me, and also a structural leak!

What a headache! I was proactive and removed all our belongings from the linen closet and my husbands clothes closet which also houses all our photos and photo albums!

There are so many and I can't bear the thought of trying to digitalize them!
For now I stored them in 2 Pereia boxes neatly and put them all together on the top shelf, and I 🙏 it doesn't buckle!

Well we scaled down some of the clothes and shoes that were in his closet and we both feel so much lighter.
It took several days to get everything back in some kind of order.

I was able to convince him to get rid of some shoes and coats and clothes he never wears. I got rid of at least 5 pairs of shoes I have been holding on to but aren't really that comfortable, so they're not useful and they had to go.

I took a break from decluttering for Xmas, but I am eager to start back up while I'm off of work until Jan. 5.

I need to do this while I am on a roll!
