An All-Clad tea kettle.  Glad to see it go! I hope someone will love it.

Carpets, bed sheets and towels no longer used. Dropped a huge bag into

a bin that collects for our local animal shelter.

Re: Declutter 2024: What Have You Purged Today?

I tossed hubby's loofa that is in the shower, gave him a new one.

I got some new bakeware for Christmas and wanted to get rid of some of the old pans. Hubby was only willing to part with one so I set that aside to donate.

Also an insert that looks like it went inside of a pan, like a grilling grate, but I don't know what pan it went into, it doesn't seem to fit into anything. Plus it was rusty so we tossed that. That's all I could get out of him for now.

Re: Declutter 2024: What Have You Purged Today?

Donating a heating blanket, never opened. Some old fabrics, rug that my mom had stored for years, tablecloths that are barely used, some fashion pins, and nick knacks that I am over.   It feels terrible donating my moms fabrics and other things but it is time don’t want to store these things any longer.  I really want to simplify as much as possible.

Tossing old salux cloths that have seen seen better days, replaced some but only some. Next going through my T-shirt’s and tossing ones that are ratty.

Also doing a big pantry purge on canned goods. I have too many that I will never get through or too so time to donate.

I feel myself gearing up again to really pull the trigger on some things.

I have been been trying to get a hold of someone to take 4 large pieces of furniture but cannot get a hold of anyone. Go figure.

[ Edited ]

Hello Declutter peeps~we are winding down 2024! Happy almost New Year to all of you here, 🍾🥂🎊, and special thanks to @rnmom for continuing these threads for us each year!

Well, our Christmas got extended as one family member tested positive for Covid and we all had been exposed, so we all did our own thing at home, postponed 'til she wasn't contageous, and we were all in the clear, and will actually do Christmas together tomorrow! (and NY Eve, apparently....all in one!)

Which means my cooking, wrapping, cleaning up, and 1000 other home chores are still going round and round.

So I'm totally in the mood to start decluttering for the New Year but other chores take precedence today.

I am going to go through my freezer. Not sure there's much to throw out, though maybe some old fruit produce for smoothies, stuffed into the door shelf! But need to do inventory, and neaten it up!

Yesterday I bagged up my recent shredding from desk, to toss.

And also spent a great amount of time decluttering my online digital clutter...Inbox of two email accounts, Sent files of both accounts, Promotional ad pages from gmail account, Spam files. Also cleared out some You Tube history, files. Messaging threads. Some cell phone texts stuff. Everything I could think of to declutter. Got a good amount gone, but still more to go through when time allows, including all those pics!!! oh boy...🤦‍♀️

That's it for me for this year~Have a Happy & Safe NY Eve and day, and onto 2025! Wishing us all a good, healthy, productive, peaceful...all the things, whatever you're wishing for...New Year. xo

Re: Declutter 2024: What Have You Purged Today?

Hi all! I feel as if I have been away for a long while!  I hope you are all enjoying a nice holiday!

I have not read all your threads--it's a long story about my tablet and my phone--but I did peruse enough to see some of you have not only continued with decluttering , but have taken on big projects. Wow! I commend you for your determination!

I, on the other hand, have been a bit of a sloth. I guess I unknowingly gave myself permission to take a break before I start the big file clean out. I did make a decision about a jacket this morning that I plan to donate. It is a nice enough black Lucky jacket, but for whatever reason, I simply feel I am done with it. I am reveling in extra space in the closet. We each have 3 rods for hanging clothes in the master bedroom closet and for the first time his  appear to be more crowded than mine.😄

I hope you all enjoy New Year's Eve exactly the way you choose and I extend my best for a happy healthy New Year!

Oh and remember when I declared I wanted to put the brakes on spending so much money going out for dinner? Well, that didn't last too long. I already have 3 dinners on my dance card. I need to be better at saying "NO"!

Happy New Year!

haven't checked in here in a while!

I have been decluttering clothing closets, but still have excess!
Cleaned/purged stuff from pantry, fridge/freezer and my bathroom!
well, one drawer in my bath, but a start, and removed stuff that needed homes on counter! oh my gosh, got rid of so many lipsticks! Still much to do for 2025!

I always enjoy reading what others are purging and organizing and hope to more intentional about posting.

@aprilskies - I understand that you feel bad donating your mom's fabrics but as she is gone there is no reason to keep her items forever. If it is something that you love and want to keep of course that is different. But don't feel bad getting rid of something that belonged to someone else if you don't want it.

I'm trying to recall, forgive me, but you have lost both of your parents within the last couple of years haven't you?

Do you have a date set to move yet?

Re: Declutter 2024: What Have You Purged Today?

One more pop in before the New Year rolls in...

I DID clean out the freezer yesterday! Yay...baby steps into a fresh start. Smiley Happy.

I was right....it was all the old, iced up, shriveled up bags of fruit and old bananas I was hoarding for smoothies that needed cleaning out! Lol. Saved only the most recent fruit in there. That really cleaned up the stuffed door shelf I had going on!  Also threw out some old plastic containers of beans for soups that got dried up. I open cans of beans then only use 1/2 or 2/3 sometimes and freeze the others to throw in soups later. Mostly they get used up in time, before fossilizing, haha. And I really should be better at dating them. Some were dated and ok, others I tossed.

I also organized and neatened up the main box of the freezer...everything was good and fresh there. I have been using down things I've had in there in December.

That's all for today and this year! See y'all in 2025! 🎉
