Re: Declutter 2020: What have you purged today?

I added to my donate bag a pair of shoes that my son outgrew.

Tossed a pool float that won't hold air any longer.

My sister is supposed to be going to the thrift store today to drop off some donations and she said she will take mine too. I don't have much, a small bag with 2 pairs of shoes and a kitchen trash bag full. It will be our first drop off in months, I hope she's able to donate it ok.

I went through the family collection of music cassettes.  Yes, you read that right - music cassettes.  101 cassettes are going plus the 2 organizers (anyone remember these)

This picture is of the style that held 24 cassettes.  Mine held 48 cassettes each.

I have a Sony boombox that plays cassettes so I didn't get rid of my Hall and Oates collection.

I have albums that are in great shape and I want to see if they are worth anything before I decide what to do with them.  Thank goodness vinyl records have been having a 'moment' the last few years.

We have a used book store in my town and they take DVDs, Cassette Tapes, Vinyl and VHS tapes and various video games.

On the weekends, people stand by the desk watching the stuff that comes in for sale or trade so they can get first dibs on it.

I get some great old and niche cookbooks there.  I like cookie cookbooks and find some interesting once that were probably gifts or in gift baskets.

Re: Declutter 2020: What have you purged today?

We went to Shipshewana over the 3rd and 4th and had a really good time. We bought lots of treasures. Some of it we needed, most of it was stuff we didn't, but it was still really fun and I'm glad we went.

For those that aren't familiar with Shipshewana, it's in Indiana and it's a huge flea market. I believe it's around 40 acres. I had never been there before and it was a good time. I'd definitely go back.

So I didn't do any purging, I added the last couple of days. I might need to look at some decluttering soon.

My sister did get my small amount of donations dropped off without any trouble though which was nice.

Today I put out a large box for recycling. It is filled with smaller boxes and paper clutter.

(I have a way of accumulating empty boxes I guess.)

I know what you mean!  "I might be able to use that box - I'd better keep it".

Then a few years later, "Why do I have this box??????"

I got rid of 6 Banker Boxes of rubber bands and paper clips.  Put them on my street curb, and they was gone the next morning.

Re: Declutter 2020: What have you purged today?

I tossed an area rug from the dining room that was too soiled to try to clean. It was mostly there for the dogs and only cost me $10 from a garage sale. I would like to replace it, but I will not pay full price for one at the store if it's just for the dogs. I'll use a towel or old blanket if I need to.

Also tossed a lunch bag that was ripped out, I got a replacement for my son.

Added 2 t-shirts to the donaate bag.

Re: Declutter 2020: What have you purged today?

Checking in with everyone to see how you are doing. Continued thoughts & prayers for ggh and her DH.

Still nursing a bum knee that has slowed me down considerably. Purged a swimsuit coverup that I never should have bought and wore just a few times before I found one I like a lot better. Went swimming on the 4th for the one & only time this summer at my brother's house as my community pool is closed for the virus.

Also happy to be returning a few things to Macy's today. Bought on sale during early days of lockdown. There are no longer any Macy's stores very close to me. Glad they have reopened as I am sick of looking at the box full of clothes.
