I just bought several sets of H210882 towel set. They are wonderful. My question is: can towels be made that do not have tons of lint?
My last set from Kohl's was the same way however, beach towels never have one speck of lint. Is there a different process for these towels? Could you adopt it if so?
Thank you.

All cotton towels bloom. All that lint in your dryer is normal and it a sign that you have good quality towels. They will get fluffier with each washing.
After a few washings, they will stop making a lot of lint, but there will be some.

This is simply not true.
The multiple filters full of lint from new towels including NN (which are some of the worst I've ever seen) is NOT the sign of a good quality towel, and is not (or should I say was not in the past) a sign of a good quality towel, but just the opposite.
Towels back 20 years plus, had one mild lint shedding and it was done. Very many of today's towels are shedding for months and months before they level off, and many of them never subside.
There has been a change in the processes in towel manufacturing (for the most part) and the types of cotton used, in order to get them so light and airy. The result is that they come apart (that is what all that shedding actually is) easier now.
There is an interesting (and ridiculous) piece I found on a website about why towels pill and how to avoid it (one suggestion was to not 'over use' your towels! What?
I won't post a link as it will get this post taken down, but can be found at "towel super center dot com". A lot of the suggestions for washing and drying towels goes against what the manufacturers are saying to do these days.
Please take me back to the towels of the 1980's and before! I have many from even the 1970's that are still going strong, and never had/have the lint, pilling, shedding, picking issue these new towels of today seem to come with as standard.

@Mominohio All of my cotton clothing and towels bloom on the first washing. I have never had excessive lint after that. Blooming is natural and has always happened, but it should not be excessive.
i have towels that I purchased back in 1976 to take on vacation and they were extremely thick. I have two left and they are thin, but still usable. Cotton will always wear away over time.
i have never had a towel pill, but no matter what goes through my dryer, there is always some lint. I only buy natural fabrics and quality products.
light and airy? Are those quick dry towels? I have some in my camper and they never bloomed and never left any lint in the dryer trap. They are ok, but not my favorite towels. They were gifted to me.
i personally have not found today’s towels any different than what I purchased in the past, but I am picky with my cotton ( no pun intended). I don’t buy cheap towels.
i have 100% wool rugs, and they shed forever. Mine did for almost a year. I hate to buy new rugs for that reason, but thank goodness, they last a long time.

Thank you all for your answers.
The beach towels that I have are a velour texture on one side and traditional terry loop on the other and they never had any lint!
Northern Nights/QVC, my question is; can you make towels like this???
I have at least 1 sofa pillow's fill from my new towels. Can you make towels that don't shed at all? I have been washing and drying these for days ![]()
