Re: DISHWASER OUT OF COMMISION

Dishwashers are not made to last.  My home appliance repair contract won't even cover them!  A broken water pump is a pretty easy fix (if that's what it is), hopefully your landlord can get someone out soon.

Re: DISHWASER OUT OF COMMISION

My dishwasher was at the end of its wash cycle and started making awful grinding sounds, then a loud pop and black smoke poured out from under it --there was  that scorched wire smell---I am in an apartment, BTW------the whole place filled with smoke, alarms went off and the fire dept came--pulled the thing out and there were bare wires that touched and sparked , as there was no protective box around them when it was installed----was filled with my clean dishes and the bottom was filled with water---it scorched the flooring too. I did get a new dishwasher a few days later--the cheapest one ever made, by the way, and it is a piece of junk!!! The old one was so much better---but maintenance here did get right on it----Woman Frustrated

Re: DISHWASER OUT OF COMMISION

Consumer Reports says the average life span of a diswasher is 10 years.  For me that means I am operating on borrowed time.  Mine must be about 16 years old.

Hope this is resolved for you soon.

Wow!  My Bosch was purchased in 2005 and it is still going strong!  I had better give it lots of TLC as it is quite elderly!🤣🤣🤣

@wagirlKnowing landlord,if he does replace,trust me it will be the cheapest one on the floor.Even could be a dent and scratch.That is how my new fridge came last yr.What do they care about renters,as long as his pockets are lined.....

Re: DISHWASER OUT OF COMMISION

@DrakesMomma   I have never had a dishwasher last 10 years.....not even close.

We run ours a few times a day.  I am happy if I can get 5 years from a dishwasher.

Re: DISHWASER OUT OF COMMISION

@4kitties , my Bosch is 2005 also and still going strong.  My stove is Bosch dual fuel, gas burners, electric convection oven, same age, still going strong.  Now that's performance.
