Re: DECORATING WITH PATCHWORK

Too much pattern and the colors are too intense.

Probably charming if you didn't grow up with it.  I associated it with old houses that sort of smelled musty, funky or smokey.  I'm just being honest here.  I can remember going in houses like that.

I think she's gone a little overboard!

I love patchwork quilts but this is way too much.

The only patchwork pieces I like are the quilts on the beds.  I do not care for the couches and chairs covered in patchwork, not my taste for those pieces at all.

Same here.

@Foxxee

The patchwork quilts remind me of my childhood. My mom used to make those from leftover scraps from her sewing.I wish I still had one. My mom died in 2012.

@wilma  I’ve never been a big fan, but I still have a patchwork quilt my grandma made for me when I graduated high school in 1979.  She used scraps of material she got from sewing, trading, yard sales.  She passed in 2003, so I am glad I have it.  I only have a few items from her.  The quilt, several homemade potholders, and a gravy bowl she got the year she was married in 1934.  It’s sweet memories for me!
