What one do you use and what are you making with yours?

What should I know about using them? Don't burn myself, yes, got it.  LOL

Re: Crafters who use glue guns

I'm not a crafter but I wouldn't be without a glue gun. Mine is just a small cheapie - I've had it for years.  I think I got it at Joanne Fabrics.   They come in very handy for gluing everything. The glue has more staying power than cold glue.  I just glued the back of my entertainment/tv stand back on. You just have to work in sections on something larger since it does dry quickly.

Protect your whole workspace and practice a little before gluing something important.  My glue gun's a cheapy as well, from a chain craft store.  Have fun!

ETA:  I use mine for all sorts of crafts and repairs around the house.

Cheapies are fine.  Just make sure to get one that can handle both low and high temp glue sticks.  Low for styrofoam etc.

I use a SureBonder Glue Gun and it never disappoints.  It's inexpensive, you can probably find it at most craft stores.

Re: Crafters who use glue guns

I have a cheap one also.  They are also good for use when using a more permanent bonding agent such as E-6000.

I have seen crafters use the E-6000 to glue wood but it takes a while to set up so right after they apply the E-6000, they also add some hot glue next to it.  This enables the pieces to hold immediately while the E-6000 has time to dry.

You can also apply hot glue dots to things that need a cushion such as a glass cutting board.  The dots will keep things from slipping.
