Here is an antique piece of furniture, converted into a bathroom vanity. What do you think about the treatment to cover up the sink's plumbing?

It’s great. Matches the baseboard.

Different kind of look for sure. I can see the baseboard matching, but I would have painted the top part to match the wall paint to blend in better.

It looks nice, but the nice antique table will inevitably get water stains

This is me -- I would probably change the vanity to match the foot stool. But I have some family heirloom pieces I would never change.

That wouldn't be something I would have done. Instead, I would have replaced the sink altogether with a pedestal-style sink or a whole new vanity with sink. To me that looks like a diy project which someone did in a jiffy.

@ValuSkr. Water stains would not be a problem if the wood is treated properly. My son and his wife have totally redone a large old house. They used an antique dresser in their bathroom. Their dresser has been protected and it has suffered no water stains. It also provides drawers for easy access to items used daily thus leaving the top clean.
