There was a thread but I couldn't locate it on Granite Counter Tops.  I know of one where there a strong smell of men's cologne or whatever on one end.  Try as one might, the odor doesn't come out with using various products.

What can anyone recommend other that removing the granite counter?

Have you tried Smells Begone?  You could spray the liquid on & see how it goes. To find more info on the products visit the website. Good Luck!

I don't have granite, so this would be just a guess but have you tried sealing it?

@Puzzle Piece, it this a newly installed piece of granite?  If so have you called the company that did the installation?

@CelticCrafter@Mom2Dogs The granite was installed in the house when it was newly built.  It was my In-laws who passed.  I don't think they had the brain to seal it yearly or do what was necessary.  Somehow something was spilled and I've tried things like I've mentioned.  If I ever do get the odor removed, I will seal it and reseal it yearly.

Maybe you could try making a paste with baking soda and a little water and let it sit on the affected area for a while.  Just a thought.......no idea about the chances of success

@Puzzle Piece

call a granite fabricator. They know exactly what to use & how to care for it. I call a lot of businesses when I'm in doubt ESP. With a big ticket item like this.
