It's weird but I think it might serve the purpose of heating and cooling. I've seen some fireplaces that have weird-shaped stacks on them so they become more efficient.

That tube could be some kind of slide...sort of like a  spiral staircase but in a tubular version.

Beyond horrible and wasted space....but if it was a functional slide my 3 and 1 year old grandsons would call it their Dream House.

Can it be like one of those things they use to have in department stores to send up cash and receipts up to the office?  

 

If it could be used like that to send stuff from upstairs, I'm all in.  Woman LOL
