I'm going to argue against the professional cleaning aspect of this, unless you are physically unable to take the hose off your dryer, take it outside and clean it out.

The vent that goes to the outside (I've only seen them go through a wall, not through a roof, so don't know if that exists, and might warrant professional help) should be reachable and be able to be cleaned with a long bristle brush and the wand on a vacuum cleaner.

If you have some odd set up, it might not be a bad idea to have a professional come and clean it out once, have them explain what they are doing,  watch them, and see if you can handle it yourself.

If it is simple, and you are capable of doing the work on your own after learning it, it would be one of those things I wouldn't pay to have done. But as with everything, if it really is beyond your ability, safety is always first!

Re: Condo Dryer Question

[ Edited ]

I asked this earlier and no one replied.  I'm still trying to figure out who you would call to do this.  Would you call a store that sold washers and dryers and ask them?  My washer and dryer are in a closet, and I couldn't possibly pull them out myself.  It's very hard for the delivery people to pull them out, too, when I get new ones.

@NickNack, I called a dryer cleaner service.  They clean ducts, dryer vents, and chimneys.

I had to have mine professionally cleaned.  It vented out of the attic out onto the roof.

Cleaning out the lint bin after each use is key.

Thank you @Bri63.  I had no idea there was a service like this.

@momtochloe

I'm on nextdoor dot com - and I suggest u post about needing someone to clean out the lint - when ur ready. Usually one of the neighbors can do it - more cheaply - than calling a professional.
