My friend and coworker is updating her kitchen.  We've had a lot a chats about kitchens, colors, and cabinets.  She sent a link to the kitchen aid site.  Her husband wants to buy stove with color.  She'd planned to buy stainless steel.  Now they are debating color vs stainless steel.  I say she should consider it part of the fun.  She will get her way in the end.  I think she likes a few of the color options and is debating more with herself than her hubby.

I didn't think I would like as many of the choices as I do.  It's just enough color to be interesting but not too much.

I like the look of a lot of the ranges but could I live with them over time?

Resale would be first in my mind.  Unobtrusive would rule for me.

Those are beautiful and apparently high end.  I love them all, especially the blue.  The ones with the double ovens interest me.

I am stuck with an electric range.  I would love to have a gas cook top with an electric oven.

If I redid my kitchen, I would consider a colored range.  They add interest and are a sought after kitchen item.

Thanks for posting. I enjoyed seeing them.

Not fond of the 1960's colors at all.

First and foremost, were I buying, I'd be buying for me and not for some potential future, undefined purchaser of my home. Then, I strongly dislike stainless so it would be a clear choice for me that I'd prefer color. Now, all that said, there will never be a day that I'd be spending thousands on a high-end range. It simply isn't important to me and I have other priorities for both wants and needs.

I like color in the kitchen. I'd probably go with the dark blue because it's almost a neutral and would be more likely to be acceptable when selling a home.

I love those ideas. I've always wanted to get a kit gen retrofitted with updated vintage style appliances, but even the ones with modern lines are more to my liking than plain stainless steel for miles. My kitchen is my home and I want to do it up to my liking not whether an eventual buyer might like it because I'd just take it with me.

@ECBG

Like you, I'm not sure I want to live through another "Harvest Gold" and Avocado era.    I'm old enough to remember both....AND shag carpet in similar colors!

I think there was a similar red/orange, but cannot recall the name.  I had wanted it for my kitchen, but ended up with white.

In my current home, I looked at a bright red AGA, but at $10,000, I decided I could live without it. Cat LOL

Some of the colors are pretty, but most of those ranges are way more fire power than I need these days.

Fun to look at though!

@liliblu , for me it would probably be black or white.  I would consider stainless for resale if I was close to selling but not otherwise as I am not a fan.  I have a dual fuel propane stove, gas on top, electric/convection oven.  All my appliances are black.  I think I would go black again.  The gas cooktop is wonderful especially in climates where power outages happen (like mine).  I would not go back to an electric range again.

It is fun to see what the latest options are but I don't think Imwould go for an unusual color.  S
