I' m in Chicago and all of us in the plains and Midwest are getting hit from Siberia, the high tomorrow will be -2
I bought this lantern styled heater 2 months ago JUST for cold days like this. V34275 I'm using in my living room in my condo and it REALLY makes a difference. I run it about 10-15 minutes, warming the room nicely. I used it about 10 times yesterday and will continue.
I am on a concrete slab, with brick exterior and ok with keeping the furnace at 68-70 as long as my little dog is warm enough. The only improvement I'd like to see is a thermostat, set at the temperature so it cycles on and off by itself. But I never leave it unattended do perhaps it's more of a safety issue this way.
I don't know what my electric bill will go up to, too soon. But I like this.

Yes, I have three of model V32925 from Q - two level home - there are times when I am very pleased to have them. Very cute, also. I'm over to the East, inland from the coast but we do see some cold.

It's -8 with a wind chill of -22 where I am and it's 9 a.m. right now which means it's warmed up from 6 a.m. this morning (wind chill -30!).....
Serious winter clothing, coats and boots going on here! ![]()
And yes!! Duraflame is a GREAT product!

Although I don't live in an extremely cold locale, I find the Duraflame is just great for first thing in the morning to knock off the chill. I leave the remote by the side of the bed, and turn it on before I even get up. I bought mine a couple of years ago and have never had problems with it. It looks great too! It is one of the bigger models.

I'm sitting in my carpeted livingroom but it's wicked cold outside and snow is coming down and we live on the ground floor, so every time someone goes out or comes in, a blast of cold air come under the door. But my little Duraflame "cube" heater is keeping me nice and warm. And the flame is so pretty and seasonal.

Youngest son was complaining about his heating bills last night and of course we rcommended closing the vents in the rooms he doesn't use, close the doors and to think about a Duraflame for his most used room!

My Duraflames with the candles were just delivered yesterday. I bought them on the "free shipping" day which saved about $30, so I'm hoping I love them as I do not want to return.
My husband is a brick mason and our home has three beautiful fireplaces -- living, dining and our bedroom. They are stunning and have antique mantels salvaged from an old Victorian style townhouse.
HOWEVER, only one has been converted back to wood burning. The other two are still gas logs which never burned properly and were expensive to run. Consequently, we rarely use them.
I showed him the Duraflame and he said he'd install them to make use of our unused fireplaces.
Can't wait to sit in bed and hit the remote for that baby.

I bought a Duraflame heater last year, and it worked just great. I have it on this weekend because we in the Midwest are really getting socked with cold air. Mine is going all day, with brief rest periods, so I hope it lasts.
It's one of those units with a fireplace look on legs, in cream. It's really cute and a nice addition to my unheated three season porch (which I use as an office/TV room so I'm in it all day).
Love Duraflame!

I hope you don't have the same experience as me when I used my regular Duraflame - electric bill went sky high - I can run my furnace cheaper. Good luck. And I agree, they need to put a thermostat in their heaters.

I have 3 Dyson heater/cold fans. I love them.. But...My cats prefer radiant heat.
Sooooooo I ordered the radiant heater Duraflame that is small (not the one with the fake flame) but I didn't realize it has a fan that blows out the heat. Now normally it would be nice, but the cats don't like the air, so I'll either have to try to pack it up and send it back or talk my daughter into taking it.
Soooooo it's back to COSTCO to get the same round radiant electric heater I've used for the cats for years! At the end of last year it seemed like it had a short in it....Am I a good mom, or what? Ha!
Between the Dyson things and the radiant heater I feel like I'm in the Bahamas! Cats love heat....
