I agree with @gardenman that the pour over method produces the best tasting coffee however, I just don’t have the patience. 😕

@Judaline   I LOVE our Technivorm.  We have the one with the thermal carafe (no more glass for me!).   It's pricy but makes GREAT HOT coffee.  It has an on/off switch.  That's it!  We've had ours for at least 15 years.... probably more.  Still going strong.

We love great coffee.  I send away for beans and grind them every day.  We drink our coffee black.  A good coffeemaker is critical in our home!

Good luck.

Honestly I really don't tink it's the coffee maker but more the brand you buy perhaps. @Judaline

I hate looking at coffee makers when I end up needing a new one because the most recent pooped out on  me and no longer works for one reason or another. I also do not spend tons of money on one because they really don't last but a few years. I'm certainly not buy a k-cup, I don't need that, don't need all the bells and whistles, just a maker that makes coffee, drips into the pot and not all over the countertop. I buy better brands of coffee too, medium/dark to dark as I know how to measure the proper amount to taste decent. Know though however I do not spend $10+ dollars for a mere 16oz of ground beans. That's ridiculous - high prices for a bag of ground beans certainly does not guarantee a decent tasting cup of java.

I do like one with an alarm so I can make coffee at night and it's bewing when we get up, almost ready to drink.

So my suggestion is trying a better brand. If you can grind your own beans, buy beans.

I'm already missing the Thai coffee I drank every day for three weeks-espresso with steamed milk mostly. Sometime a latte or a flat white. My Keurig coffee with half and half tastes bland and flavorless now. My daughter has a DeLonghi espresso machine. She made me the best lattes. Wondering if I might want to spring for one.

Bonavita 8-cup is my tried and true.

I wish they still made the glass carafe...I'm not sure they do.

I love mine! Cat Very Happy
