We have a big clock on a wall in the kitchen that we can see in the family room.  We can't see the clocks on the microwave or stove from that room.  Runs on batteries.  Love it!

I have a wall clock in my kitchen, in addition to the clocks on the microwave and stove, of course.

I also have wall clocks in my living room, family room and master bedroom.

I have several vintage -- ok, just old -- non-working clocks that I leave out as decor.  I love them all!

I do. I like to have some sort of clock in every room. My favorite in the grandfather's clock. I love to hear the chimes.

@Imaoldhippie   My daughter has that cat clock in her  red and white retro 50's kitchen. It is cute.

When I was a child, in the 50's, our veterinarian had the same clock in his waiting room.

@Kachina624  In addition to our love of turquoise, it seems that we also share a love of clocks.

When my first husband and I were collecting antiques, he collected  a lot of clocks. I have a few of them. My five children each have one of his clocks.

In the dining room is an oak gingerbread shelf clock and in the living room are two mantle clocks. One is the common style, rectangular black clock case with ingraved eastlake style designs, four metal legs and a lions head on each side, that were once a gold finish that has worn off. The clock face is a very ornate gold with three pillars on either side with a reddish marble finish.

My favorite mantle clock is on the mantle above my fireplace. I have never seen another one like it. It in an Art Nouveau style with a cast metal front, sort of bronze or antique gold color. At the top is a face, either the North Wind or Green Man. Below are vines, flowers, a butterfly, a snail and a mouse. In my bedroom is a small gold Art Nouveau style clock. All those clocks are more than 100 years old.

Even though I have digital clocks on the microwave and the stove, I have a reproduction 1940's - 50's red kitchen wall clock. That compliments my vintage style kitchen.

Maybe if your niece could come to visit, she could take the clock home with her. It would need to be packed very carefully.

@Enufstuff.  My niece was just here in July, but carrying this fragile clock on a plane would be out of the question as its about 2 ft tall.  The bottom face gives the date, month and day of the week.  It bangs out the hour, not melodiously either.  Wind once a week.  Walnut case.  It belonged to great grandparents.

@Kachina624  That is an exquisite clock. I have never seen one like that with the date and month. My deceased first husband would have loved it.

It is a family heirloom for you, a beautiful antique piece.
