Cleaning a fabric sofa - Tide Oxy?

Time to clean my fabric sofa. I saw a Tide Oxy commercial that recommended using it to clean upholstery. Have you tried it? What was the result? Did it leave a residue? If you have used something else, can you recommend it? TIA!

Are you going to clean it using a machine?

I am afraid of damaging the fabric if I use a Rug Doctor machine, so I googled how to clean upholstery using a sponge and am going to use that method. I own an older Bissell carpet cleaner and can use the attachment to extract water if too much remains.

My Hoover carpet cleaner has an upholstery attachment. I thought maybe you were going to use something like that. I'd make a bunch of suds and use the suds with a sponge to avoid over-wetting the fabric.

I have a fabric couch and I've wondered about this as well. I typically use my Haan Steamer with the fabric attachment and this works great. However, if there is a small stain it doesn't always remove it.
