When we go to Pa for the summer I will have to clean myself - and I'm not looking forward to it. Having someone come in to do it has been the best treat ever. Of course up there i only have a very small space to have to keep clean. The ceilings are so low I can reach them without even a stepstool, so the cleaning is fairly simple.

DH always goes out when the cleaning lady is here - he says all that concentrated cleaning all at once is disturbing to him.

I walk around my house in the morning after breakfast and tidy up whatever needs tidied - I am certainly capable to figure out for myself when I look at something that is dirty that I need to clean it. If i see something that is dirty I don't wait until some website tells me it is the day to clean it - when I notice it needs cleaned, I clean it. It seems to me that the time spent on a website being told how to clean would be better spent actually doing the cleaning.
What a ray of sunshine!
Mom-You made me LOL and I feel the exact same way. Nothing like chiming in to a relatively positive thread just to berate others. ![]()

I'm not one who loves housework. And sometimes I have to address things in chunks. Which was like a revelation to me years ago. You mean I don't have to spend the ENTIRE weekend cleaning out the closet??? And I can do 1/2 and hour here and and another hour there? Amazing!!!
Same goes with some other household tasks.

No, you're not whining. I had a shoulder injury two years ago, requiring four months of physical therapy, and recently, tendonitis right before the holidays in my right hand. Everything stops, or at least really slows down, when you're injured. You shouldn't have to apologize for anything when you're in pain. I got a little depressed with the shoulder because I was in the middle of painting my bathroom and everything was in disarray, plus my spring gardening couldn't get done (I have a lot of flowers/shrubs).
I finally decided that I couldn't fight it, so I just read a lot more than I usually do, and would force myself just to do a tiny bit each day and not get depressed about it looking like a mess.
Eventually everything got done (both times). It makes me really feel sorry for those with chronic pain and health issues.
