Re: Cleaning Oven Door Glass?

When we bought a new oven a few years ago I was surprised that the cleaning instructions said to use Brillo on the glass.  Works really well and no scratches.

My problem is the gunk that somehow gets inbetween the glass and can't be reached to clean it. I am not taking that door apart ! with my luck it would not go back together.

@151949, do I ever hear you ! The first time I used my self cleaning function, there was c*** running down between the glass. I was so angry, I called the company and asked if it was covered by warranty because it looks horrible. Oh, no, it's not. So I have had a towel hanging from the oven handle for years. Not what I would have preferred to do. If something goes wrong with the oven and I have to call for service, I will also have them take the door apart and clean inside the glass. So maddening.

I used a foam cleaner on the oven and when I turned around, there were two big drips trickling down the inside of the glass door.  I keep 2 towels on the door handle.

I won't try cleaning my regular oven at home this way.

Re: Cleaning Oven Door Glass?

i have the same issue it"s in between the glass.  I hate it. Another issue I have with this stove is that the top doesn't open to clean underneath the jets.  I didn't realize this when I purchased it.  I don't care how molded the top is crumbs still fall underneath.  Progress?  I don't think so.

Re: Cleaning Oven Door Glass?

After I run the self cleaning cycle I use Mr. Clean's Magic Eraser to clean the inside of the glass door.  It works great!

Re: Cleaning Oven Door Glass?

Darn I knew I shouldn't have opened this post.  After reading it I decided to check my oven which I do not use very often and of course I am now cleaning my oven which was not on my list of things to do today.
