I don't have a mantel but i do have an entertainment center that has a 8 foot long shelf. On the shelf every year i place my large ceramic lighted nativity that was from CB many years ago, and on the other side I put a large ceramic lighted country church. I put down angel hair as a base for both of them. I wanted to put a pine garland across the front of the shelf but all the ones I looked at seemed like they would scratch the furniture because they had a twisted wire center and it was not covered enough to be certain it wouldn't scratch. Where do you all buy garlands? Have you ever had the garland scratch your mantle or railing?
