I donated that a couple of years ago then last year had no tree. I had a grapevine tree with clear lights that I donated too. I do have alot of very nice decorations though and some that my Mom and Dad had gotten me thru the years that I do miss using with no tree!
Something I did for my parents now that they are older is that I made two wreaths and incorporated some really special ornaments in each. They are lighted and I added other elements - I think that they turned out really well. Also, I like to string lighted garland and add some of my heavier ornaments that tend to pull down the tree branches. So even if you don't put up a full tree, you can definitely show off your ornaments.

No, I don't. I live in a small apartment and have no room for a tree.

I live alone and put up TWO trees every year. One large, one smaller (3 ft?)
Of course, I have entertained a bit and not sure if that will be happening this year- even with family. I am hoping to be scheduled for elective surgery in December which may also cause me to skip the trees, but only for this year.
I used to put up the big tree for the kids and for my mom. She has passed, the kids are grown. Now I do it exclusively for me; it makes me happy. Why would I as a single person skip the effort at Christmastime to create beauty in my home, for me to enjoy?
One year when I was in my 20's I threatened not to decorate- not even a small tree. My friends were not having it! I did buy a tabletop real tree and decorated it have put up a tree every year since.
I am reminded that my favorite garden center will have their wonderful, unique ornaments and decor on display soon. I used to live around the corner. I still go back every October for gifts and at least one new ornament for myself.
I expect that when I am too old to make the effort to put up a tree that DS and his family will put up a small tree for me to enjoy. He is all about the tree.

I haven't put up a tree since 2000. I got tired of hauling all the stuff from upstairs, rearranging furniture to make room for everything etc. knowing in 2 weeks I had to undo everything.
My son was getting married in 2001 and I gave everything to him and my furture DIL. Take what you want and throw the rest.
I have a tabletop ceramic tree that I got out sometimes. DH didn't care if we had one or not.
It was fun when the kids were young but after they were grown it was just extra work.
We have a 1 yr. old cat now and a tree could be Disneyland for her.

Do what makes you happy. I remember when I was single I was talking about buying furniture for my apartment, and an older woman couldn't understand why I would go to the trouble because I wasn't married. 🤦‍♀️. My advice for what. It's worth is decorate the heck out of your home. This year especially we need the beauty and joy. JMO.🎄

I am married, we have grand kids. I have not put up a traditional tree for years. To much hassle, takes up to much space and frankly I don't enjoy deocrating a tree. My house is decorated in many other ways.

If you enjoy it do it! I have noticed over the years my trees and decorations have gotten less elaborate. I think I have Christmas fatigue already. If I didn't have kids, I'd probably skip it but there is no reason not to if it makes you happy and doesn't feel like you "have to".
