Re: Chic Parisian Apartment...

The woodwork is so ornate, one scarcely notices the furnishings.  The only thing that really jolts me is the coffee table.

Somebody please straighten the lamp shade.

Why is it, when I have a 50/50 guess at something, I'm always 100% wrong?

Re: Chic Parisian Apartment...

@stevieb  I like the room without the furniture, which is not my style.  The window brings in lots of light, and I would add more comfortable white sofas with fabric and some colorful pillows/throws.  I would like to see some colors of Provence added to the room.  I also like the mirror, cornices, and the gold wall detail.  With different furniture, I could move right in.

The next time that I hear salt and ice together, it better be in a margarita!

Ok, I'll be the oddball and say I don't like the room. I do like the windows but that's it. The whole thing just does not suit me and nothing is my style, personally.

I love it and am fine with everything.  It isn't perfect, and that's ok.  It is a mix of old and new, elegant and worn and new, which Europe understands and we don't.

The gold paint is too much for me  --very ornate.  I would prefer it to be the same color as the rest of the walls.

I can't imagine people living in such pristine digs. Must have a housekeeper. No one I know lives like that.

Re: Chic Parisian Apartment...

Sophisticated French mix;  the only thing that jars a bit is the rather regimented line up of objects on coffee table.  That seems out of character.  Otherwise a super room, nonchalantly juxtaposing low, comfortable, modern furniture with classic vintage beauty.  Love the forced blooms bringing nature in too.

Even that carelessly tilted lamp shade fits!

I think it's lovely. I could stay there for a week or two.
