I think everyone should check their ceiling fans & make sure all the screws are tight. They must get loose after years of use. Not long ago one of the blades was loose & flew off the fan & hit the wall in our dining room. We were lucky it hit the wall where it did. It just missed flying in the kitchen. Every place else in the dining room it could have hit would have been the windows, french doors or hutch. The last 2 ceiling fans we bought the blades snapped down instead of scre~wing on. Don't know if they stay on any better or not.
