What do you do with candles that think stink? Can't think of a donation site that takes them. I bought Homeworx Strawberry Patch and it definitely has a note neither myself or my husband like.

Re: Candles you don’t like

Those would go in the trash, or burn them outside to get rid of the wax and then toss the container unless you want to keep the glass container (since some of his are quite nice).

Personally, I try to recycle as much as I can, so I would probably burn it outside if I could recycle the container.

I would just throw them out unless someone you know wants them.

Tuck them away in a cool, dark spot for an emergency power outage.

Re: Candles you don’t like

@traveler I used to enjoy candles wiith a very very light vanilla or cinnamon scent. DH was okay with those.

The last  few years for some reason, I dislke anything that scents a room. Tried diffusers and threw them out.

Years ago a neighbor gave me a set of little candles from the 99Cents store. So awful. They were dusty! They went in the trash.

Re: Candles you don’t like

@traveler I ask family if they want them, sometimes what smells bad to one person doesn't necessarily smell bad to another. I had a candle that was so strong, and it had Ylang Ylang in it, and I could not burn it-my mom loved it!!!!!!!!

@traveler  If you want to keep the container, put the candle in the freezer for a while. The wax should shrink just enough to slide out easily. I have never tried this with an unused candle but have been successful cleaning out remnants of candles many times in the past.

Re: Candles you don’t like

I burn mine outside on the patio at night.  That way I won't completely waste my money.

This week, I am burning a BBW candle that is supposed to smell like fresh orange.  It has no scent at all.  The glass container is orange and looks great outside.

i supposed I should return it, but it is too much trouble.

I have seen many barely used or new candles at the Goodwill in years’ past. Guess the owner thought they smelled awful, and so did I.

Re: Candles you don’t like

@traveler  Several years ago I bought a set of HS candles for hostess gifts. They were so bad, I had to throw them out. Before I threw them out I let my good friend smell them, and she agreed with me.
