"Cottages and Bungalows"n magazine, just announced the winner of their curb appeal contest.  But they aren't showing hers now, because they are going to publish it with fanfare, later on.

I like all the finalists, which they did leave up on the site.

"Carpenter Gothic" is one of my favorite architectural styles, below.  We have one in our town, that has even been published, but unfortunately is not being kept up.  This cute finalist was described as being in New York's Adriondack Mountains.  So adorable, and with the perfect accessory, an American flag:

This darling cottage is in the Pennsylvania woods:

This charmer is in Ohio:

Love a bungalow with a wide, welcoming porch.  This one's in Kentucky:

This one was described as a 1912 California coastal cottage.   Love the timeless appeal of a white picket fence.

They are so sweet.  I can only imagine what the winner looks like.  The other finalists can be seen on the "Cottages and Bungalows" online site.

All of the cottages have appeal.  I do favor the California coastal and Pennsylvania cottages, so pretty and the grounds lovely.  These are perfect getaway places, relaxing and calm, quiet and peaceful.

I spent many summers at a lake/mountain area and the bungalows and cottages were scattered throughout and so charming.  The log cabins stood out for me because I was from the city and they were unique at the time.  I look forward to seeing the winner of this contest!!!

They are all beautiful, can't imagine picking one. If I had to do so it would be the Carpenter gothic. . . just lovely.

I'd love to see some hanging baskets of ferns on the wide porch of the Kentucky bungalow.

Overall, I think these houses are very ordinary.

Although they are all nice, I see nothing special about them.

LOVE the Carpenter Gothic.  I have a big picture book on them.

I looked at this one in Pennsylvania and immediately "saw" children rolling down that hill!

I love the cottage in the Pennsylvania woods.

Do you think this is taken from the back of the property?

I could live there. Beautiful !!
