Re: COMPACT NEW YORK APARTMENT

@Reever

Not over priced or over crowded.  I live in a residential "neighborhood" on the East Side .. rents are moderate.  And ... all maintenance and utilties are included.  Neighborhoods are like small towns.

If you go to the tourist areas - yeah, it gets crowded.  Not around here.  Lots of people, obviously, but not over crowded.

My one-bedroom apartment is on the 10th floor ... no noise pollution whatsoever ... and there's a police station two blocks away FDNY six blocks away, and several hospitals in the area.  One of my friends is on the 5th floor of a building right off the FDR ... no noise there either, and she has a fantastic view of the Fourth of July Fireworks on the East River!

There are neighborhood restaurants that are moderately priced.  If you want "fine dinng" .... you have to pay for it!  We have quite  a few family owned restaurants within walking distance.

I don't need to ride subways .... so I can't speak to that.  Buses, taxis and car service are perfectly okay.  Generally - I can walk to almost everywhere I need to go.

Manhattan NY is overpriced and overcrowded. You couldnt pay me to move there. The noise pollution is deafening with taxis honking horns at all hours of day and night. Restaurant prices are 20 percent higher for everything, subway lines are dirty.
