Re: CLASSIC ENGLISH SITTING ROOM

[ Edited ]

Perfection.

Although my room was not that large, shen I did total English, I had a sofa covered in Jacobean with the soft blues and what I would call lightly dusted peach.  I love that.  I had two wingbacks covered in a peachy-bourbon velvet-like fabric, a club chair in a soft powdery blue corduroy, two tea tables (one between the wingbacks and one by the club chair) for ease of placing drinking vessels and an ottoman in front of the fireplace,but not quite large that. Mine could be used for one extra seat, miniscule comparatively. It reminds me so much of that.

My adjacent dining room had grass cloth with a cinnaon color thread running through it.  I loved that house.  Now that i go back and think about it and the pictures I have of it.  That was 3 houses ago.  I don't think that furniture would look the same in this house.  No.  This house does not have that tudor look that my other house had.

Where did I go wrong  and start mixing periods and giving furniture to my DILs?  That was all mahogany and cherry.  LOL.  When I stay home, as I have for this decade, I get tired of my house and want to change things.  I am restless.  I guess it takes the place of a move.

I love every bit of it.  I guess you could tell mine was done in the 1980s based on the dusty peach and soft blues.  Those were the colors then.  I also had ivory carpet.

I know nothing about her, except she has the right kind of dog!  {*_*}

Re: CLASSIC ENGLISH SITTING ROOM

Those colors in the sitting room are perfect....so peaceful and inviting.  This is the space I would want to be on a rainy afternoon, book in hand, and a crackling fire.  She was able to recreate this comfort level in the tea room, but added a comfortable elegance.  The perfect space for an afternoon tea and intimate conversation.

Thanks @Oznell, I always enjoy your interior design shares.

Re: CLASSIC ENGLISH SITTING ROOM

The kitchen is nice, but to my eye the sitting room needs a lot of updating or refreshing.

Her sitting room is beautiful - the color palette, the tan walls with the white ceiling, the comfortable looking furniture.

English Traditional is definitely not for me.  I do like her kitchen though.
