Re: CEMETARY PLANT SUGGESTIONS?

@beach-momThey eat my geraniums at the cemetery every year and most everything else I've tried there.  I will say, I have tons of day lilies at my house and they leave those alone.  The rabbits and deer both eat my plain green hostas but for some reason they don't touch the varigated ones!  Go figure -- I like the varigated anyway so they can have the plain green ones LOL

Peonies     They like full sun and get stronger with wind. Animals don't

eat them. You plant them early fall Even I can grow them. The plants last forever and get better as they age. They bloom for Memorial Day. I planted some at my grandparents grave I only get to every couple of years due to distance It's comforting knowing the flowers will be there so they will always be remembered even after I'm no longer able to go.

Re: CEMETARY PLANT SUGGESTIONS?

If you are having problems with things being stolen, use a plastic cemetery vase, remove the spike at the bottom (never long enough to stay in the ground) and insert a cheap screwdriver (dollar tree sells 2 for $1.25) so the screwdriver sticks out the hole where the spike was. Add floral foam around the handle and then insert faux flowers. Nothing wrong with them. I do this for my grandmother's grave to to stealing and the cemetery's lawn equipment destroying the live flowers I was using; they were cut down to the dirt time and time again. The screwdriver is deep enough the vase is usually still standing when i visit in a few weeks.
