How about these built ins with the contrast blue backing?  Do they add to the design or take away from it, and why?

Re: Built Ins with the Blues

I think they detract from the look.  Your eye is immediately drawn to this blue and that's all you zero in on!  All of the area is so pretty and this definitely needs to go!!!

Love the rooms, but not the blue.  Too "in your face".  That's all you see.

I agree with the previous posters.  The blue is very distracting.  Maybe a softer blue?  Maybe white built-ins?  Love the window inbetween the built-ins!

The rest of the room has warm neutrals, and this blue is a cool neutral. They don't go together.  That's the reason why it stands out.

Don't care for it at all. Doesn't work with the rest of the room.

I like the room except for the blue.

I don't care for that shade of blue at all. I would prefer white or a much paler shade of blue.

I absolutely love it ... it enhances and compliments the blue decor from the adjoining room and makes for a beautiful transition.

Re: Built Ins with the Blues

As much as I love the color blue, I think in this room, a much lighter shade of blue would look much better,
