Actually used to have a bug vac that my family got me. Had it a long time but it stopped working.  I have thought about getting one though! I have read mixed reviews but glad it works for you!!

I'm afraid of spiders & earwings are so gross so I do use a vac to suck them up. Little Miss Muffets Revenge is a good spray to use outdoors or inside, the website gives directions on how to use it & the best areas to spray...I know that the OP doesn't want a spray but it might help someone else. Peppermint oil soaked cotton balls is recommended by some for getting rid of mice, spiders & bugs but I've never tried it. Good Luck, hope you find a solution.

Prevention is your best friend, especially if you have pets and don't want neurotixins in your apartment.

Real peppermint essential oil sprayed works wonders on spiders (as well as ants, mice, and other pests).  You have to apply it at doorways, windows, and reapply. They hate this scent because it interferes with their senses.   It's nontoxic (unlike hairspray) and eliminates the cruelty factor (can you imagine how bad the suffering is to die from being coated in hairspray?)  If you see these creatures you can place a jar over them, slide a card underneath, and release them outside where they belong.

Ehrlich Pest Control.  They come 3 times a year and spray inside and out.  No more spiders or centipedes.  Or anything.  We used to get ants every spring too - no more.  It even cut down on the stink bugs.  What prompted us getting them was the large wolf spiders. They'll also comes as needed for anything - like a wasp nest -  at no extra charge.  Well worth it.

I use Raid House adn Garden if something creeps inside. Every so many months we mix and Ortho formula and spray around the outside of the foundation. Our house is surrounded by woods so we have a bit extra work in this area. I have dogs so I can't use the essential oils.

I've also purchased those plug in pest sonic devices and they work for our needs. I've seen an improvement in the lower level and garage areas especially.

i know a guy who swears by essential peppermint oil.. he says he sprays it once a month or maybe every 2 months around his house.. and he never sees a bug, or mouse... i never tried it, but he says to mix it with water in a spray bottle... but i still think an exterminator is the best....
