Re: Buffet Style, Tabletop or Other?

Buffet style, I generally have a bigger crowd than can fit at the dining room table, so we each find a spot where we are comfy with some at the table and some in sofas and chairs in the adjoining space.

We hang out with the food and conversation for quite some time, and people feel free to move around as suits them, it works for us, but is not formal.

I actually prefer having the majority of my parties in the summer as I have much more room and table space out by the pool.

Thank you @Regal Bee.  I have always tried to keep it easy for people to mix and mingle-we have a large family plus friends and extended family.  People tend to move to different rooms looking for food and conversation or games-whatever their fancy at the moment.  I don't think there is a wrong or right way-do what is best for yourself, your family and the design of your home.  I do love looking at your lovely photos of your home-did or do you work in design?

@mustang66lady  I was a consulting interior designer for a number of years.

Well, @Regal Bee- I think you left out the word "successful" consulting interior designer!  Your home and photos are lovely-thanks for sharing them!
