Oh, funny, @lolakimono!  That's what hubby just did.  The Philosophy bottle did the job, and my husband, kind man that he is, took "Spidey" to his bathroom for the final flush.

No worries that when I sit down "it" might resurrect.🕷

I'm afraid of spiders of any size.  If I'd seen it a couple of days ago I would have moved to a hotel until it was gone.

I found one of those square black spiders in my house last week.  I got out the vacuum and sucked him up.  I could hear it hitting the hose on it's way up.  Then I put the vacuum outside in case it crawled out.

I was bitten by a brown recluse years ago, & almost lost a toe!

I'm getting itchy just reading these posts!!

My usual way of dealing with spiders is to suck them up in the vacuum too...I always worry that they won't die in there though, and that they're making a nice little nest in the vacuum bag and will eventually crawl out of the vacuum through the hose...at night...when I'm sleeping.

I know, I have a problem!

Oh...shivers!!!  I'm glad you got it!

I don't hear of them here in southeastern PA so I hope to never encounter one!

I live in SE PA too - I don't think I ever saw one. I don't want to encounter any bug that can live through a spray of Raid.

Needless to say, I am now suspicious of anything that moves or looks out of place.  Guess I'll be checking under the covers before I get into bed!🕷

Wow, @Foolywooly11, almost lost a toe for a recluse bite!

I actually did order a new 32 oz bottle of Pure Grace lotion (I had a $25 off coupon).  It seemed like a good reason.

Yikes!  We have them in Maryland, buy I've never seen any.

I was moving some concrete blocks one morning to reposition my salt lick for the deer, and found a Black Widow -- I just dropped everything and walked away!

Hate killing anything, but if I found one in the house, I would have to kill it.

Re: Brown Recluse Spider

@Scooby Doo

@lOVETOSHOP, I'm laughing because I also freak out with the fear that a vacuumed spider will crawl back out!  DH says I'm crazy and he's probably right, but several times I've either removed the nozzle and stuffed a paper towel up the hose, or taken the whole vacuum outside until the next day, when my nerves have calmed enough to empty it and deal with it in general.  LOL

We have had brown recluse spiders.....we set out "spider traps" (they come in a 5 pack-get them at the feed store).  We put them in corners, behind things and especially in dark places.  It's amazing how many have been caught.  A recluse is not an aggressive spider...hence "recluse".  I always shake out my shoes & clothing just to make sure.........haven't seen any live ones for about a year.......definitely recommend getting those spider traps!!

I had a big spider web right outside my screened in porch.  My friend said it looked like a brown recluse spider.  They scare me to death.  I thought they liked dark enclosed spaces.  A worker once told me that I had some in my crawl space.  I didn't think my friend could be right that that's what the spider in the web was.  If you found one inside your house I guess I'm wrong.  I did get rid of it.
