I like the room, especially the ceiling and fireplace wall.  But the furniture has to go......add color in the furniture and cover those windows.  Makes it look so cold and hard without any coverings.  Coverings soften the look.

Re: Bright Rustic

[ Edited ]

I'm visualizing the room in winter with deep snow outside, like we have now.  Very cold looking.  Summer, with greenery?  It would look OK.  This room has my fatal flaw, the lamps are on tables next to nothing, not next to the chairs that someone might actually use for reading.  Oops, excuse me.  The lamps are next to a couch so you could read there.  The plaid area must be just for conversation.

It gives me hives to look at it.  Did they just go out and buy one to four items of everything they saw that day?

What is wrong with it to me is it is a hot mess of a lovely room now crammed full to the gills of stuff.  Throw away half of the contents and I would like it.  I like to have walking around space.

I like the modern twist on rustic. I would change a few things. The built in's would go, and the rug would be gone. If we could see more wood on the floor it would contrast the white.

It's airy, and offers almost limitless possibilities.  I like that they went with a warm off-white, not that default stark, cold white.

Plays off the beautiful wood nicely.

It's throwing me off a little bit with the chairs in the foreground being arranged a little too rigidly, with the long ottoman or bench acting as a bit of an obstruction, but that's an easy fix.

I might like this room better if I were standing in it, but just looking at the photograph, it feels like way too many horizontal and vertical lines.

What is rustic about this?

I like the space and how they divided it up. Wooden ceiling beams are not usually my style, but they're ok here. I like how the light walls contrast with the warm wood. Love the built-ins but not the fireplace. I don't like the plaid fabric on the furniture. I would add a bit more color to the room. The TV is not in a practical spot for viewing.

I see the bright, but it takes more than some wood beams to make a room rustic in my book. Nice elements but they need to be arranged less frenetically. This room has a lot of potential but needs some editing and rearranging.
