Re: Border for Wedding Rings Quilt

[ Edited ]

@Lilysmom      Beautiful quilt.  I would have liked someting in the light blue and a narrowerer border.  I would not want to take away from the quilt itself.

Re: Border for Wedding Rings Quilt

@Katcat1, the photo does not show the border, just the material for the border.  I just posted some photos of the finished job.  I agree, less border is better.

I came very close to choosing blue for the border.  I thought it would be pretty as well.  I didn’t choose blue because last year’s quilt was blue.  This quilt is going in a guest bedroom with maroon and beige area rug and a yellow wall.

Photos of of last year’s quilt below.

Re: Border for Wedding Rings Quilt

@CelticCrafter, I squared it.  I have never done a scalloped border.  I should check it out as I am sure it would be very pretty in some styles.  I posted photos of the finished quilt.  LM

Re: Border for Wedding Rings Quilt

@Lilysmom  Years ago I was given a beautiful quilt that was white with flowers of pink, yellow and green and the border was a one or two inch of the green color.  It was simple and very pretty.  Everyone has different taste so I am not knocking anyone but rather stating my preference.

Your quilt is lovely.
