What I really don't like is blue walls.  For some reason (actually I know why) I associate blue walls with poor people.  When we built our home in 2007, the builder assigned us a decorator.  I picked out gorgeous blue granite for our bathroom counters.  There are also accent squares in the tile floor and in the shower.  Those are very pretty and I love it.  BUT, the decorator suggested blue walls, and for the life of me I don't know why I agreed.  I have hated it ever since.  Every year I swear I am going to have our bedroom and bathroom repainted, but have yet to do it.  Maybe this year.

Yes you need to make this year the one in which you change the wall color. That is a long time to wait and walls are our largest space in a room.

@rockygems123 You are right.  I have a lot of things in my bedroom that need to be cleared out first - things to donate, some of my Mom's things I need to deal with, and way too much jewelry.  The reward for dealing with it will be to get it painted and new carpet.  I have had paint chips taped to a few walls now for a few years.  Time to make it happen.  Thank you for the kick in the pants!

Love this so much.  My accent color is red so I'm pretty much locked into that.  But if I was beginning again, I'd go with shades of blue like this.

I really like this kitchen, but then I do love blue.  My own kitchen has blue as the accent color but it's not as "in your face" as this picture. More like curtains, canisters, towels, and my blue Kitchen Aid mixer on the counter. Have to confess there was a time I had flow blue plates on the wall, too. 😉
