What do you think of this remodel?
Overall, I think they did a good job. I like most of the changes they made. I like openness of the after. It really lightens & brightens the space. Not crazy about the counter stools.
My main criticism is all the white, but I’m seeing lots of all white rooms right now. White cabinets are fine, but I don’t like a white backsplash. A darker color there would add some contrast & be more my style. I learned my lesson with stains on light chair cushions, so I would use a darker color chair or maybe even a subtle print to add a bit more color.

Overall I really like it.I would change out the table with a lighter color wood & add different chairs.I would also put in high stools with backs at the counter.

This seems mixed up to me: the cabinets don not eude a modern theme, yet the stools and dining area do, imo.
Also, not a fan of all white kitchens; think white cabinets have been exhausted.

I think they did a decent job. I too cannot stand a stool without a back. I like the contrast with the light chairs and dark table. The chairs look like they may be easy enough to wipe down, they don't look like cloth to me. Agreed the white cabinets are not impressive at all.

I had a very similar before in my previous home. I do not care to see the mess I made in the kitchen when my guests and I are eating in the dining room. Also not the biggest fan of the completely open main floor plan. I opened up the doorway between the DR & kitchen to a generous width. Brought a lot more light from the glass doors into the kitchen, while also keeping my budget in check.
To each his or her own . No right or wrong way. A lot depends on the size and and age of the home .

The before pic is children & pet friendly.
The after pic is for a home w/no children & pets.
As for the white kitchen - too much DAILY cleaning to remove "grease" splatter for those that "cook." Even those that don't cook much, will still be "wiping" down the WHOLE kitchen DAILY.
Overall, the after pic is very pretty. I love it. Just not for my lifestyle.

I won't hedge my bets on this one- I think it's fabulous!
I'm just starting to brood a little about mine. We've been here for 4 years and I still can't get a handle on what I'd plan to change.
I LOVE the brightness and sophistication of it.
GOOD CHOICES on your part!

I am laughing about the comments about the stools....because I have them in my kitchen 😂 I'm hardly offended, because they are ugly! We recently did a complete renovation of our kitchen. It's all done, except for stools (we couldn't find any that we both found comfortable). We are using these a temporary fix until the ones we eventually ordered come in. But in the meantime, we joke about these stools (because they are more comfortable than we care to admit). And there will be days when we both look at them and laugh about how ugly they are. Then other days that we look and say "they aren't THAT bad". Anyhow, I got a laugh at the comments on these stools seven been rolling our eyes at for a bit!

@NicksmomESQ Our bar area is a place where we walk by a lot and no matter how much space there is, if it is in a walk by area you don't want backs on the stools!
Especially if you like to go through the house at night and don't turn on the light. . . or with people milling around.
