@haddon9  Hi, yes The Capital Grille for steaks is the best indeed,

I agree! I too have one five minutes away and your late Mom also had one in Ft. Lauderdale not far from where she lived as I recall.

Very pleasant for lunch too. They had a sliced steak Caesar salad that was wonderful on the lunch menu.  Hope your well. Smiley Happy

Re: Bed Bath and Beyond

[ Edited ]

I used to love Bed, Bath some years back when they sold Lennox dinnerware. Yes, they sure did. And it was all so spaced out and elegant.  Then  all of a sudden the store lost its charm and inventory was gone, and became aisles of inexpensive shampoo brands, and less quality wares.  It was no longer a nice experience in appearance and quality.  It used to be a happy place to be enjoyed. Not at the end.  No strolling.

Sometimes "coupons" kill a business like JC Penney IMO. It was a slow decline sadly.

And I always liked Pier One, who wouldn't?  It was always a fun place to stroll and purchase. It smelled wonderful too with it's candles, etcetera as well.

But I will add even more stores are having Friends & Family much more often than twice a year.

There are so many nice stores gone, Pier one comes to mind as well as a Macy's that was in a mall about an hour away.  Finding nice this to purchase as gifts or for the home is getting harder to find...I like to shop in person, not a huge fan of online ordering.

Bed Bath and beyond was a go to for many things.  I have a very nice, large rug in the master bedroom and browsing their kitchen area was always fun....you never knew what you needed until you found it there.

@Pink123 Thanks!  I just got back from a Viking ocean cruise from Venice to Athens!  It was a great time!  Lots of food and wine and I'm exhausted.....

My local Capital Grille doesn't offer lunch.  I hope that changes.  Maybe because it's still new and they want to see how it goes.

I do miss visiting the Blue Moon restaurant in Lauderhill By the Sea....great seafood and nice sitting by the water. Smiley Happy

I really liked our Bed Bath and Beyond when we had it. Our little city needs a store like that and our Pier One was wonderful......

I miss Pier One especially........Such a beautiful store...

I can't see either one coming back here unfortunately....

@haddon9  I'm happy you had a great time!  I love Viking Ocean too.  More intimate ships with not more than 1000 passengers or less?  Where to next?

Wow that is odd Capital Grille is not open for lunch.  Ours in South Florida are.  I do think your right in that they are testing the waters as far as customer traffic is concerned.

Ours here in my town is quite warm and  intimate.  I'm further north now in Palm Beach County and love it especially less traffic.

Oh my girlfriend down in Ft. Lauderdale across the intracoastal from Blue Moon  now is in love with Kaluz.  She loves sitting by the water as much as possible.

Cheers!
