@tsavorite wrote:Thank you ladies for explaining what and how you take care of these 3 wick candles....they did give me a little directions paper today at BBW. I had fun checking out the scents and they were on sale 2/$24 with a extra 20% off....so not a bad deal to pick a few up and see how it goes. I decided to get Autum and Sweet Cinnamon Pumpkin...I hope the dreaded drowning of the wicks from the past truly is gone...I will follow the directions to the letter (but I did that in the past too LOL) since everyone is having such good luck with this brand I couldn't resist getting a few today!
Good Luck - don't think you'll have a problem. Yesterday my order came -the pumpkin pedestal (beautiful) and chestnut & clove candle and cinnamon pretzel candle. They smell really nice on cold sniff. Going out today -will burn tomorrow

I was at BBW this afternoon, and I had a nice chat with a sales associate. She answered a couple questions about upcoming events.
I first asked what day it was that we could stack our coupons, and she said it was on Black Friday. What this means is that if you have a coupon that is for $10 off $30 or more, and you have another coupon that is for 20% off your purchase, you can use both. Unfortunately, you can only use this offer in store, not online.
Second, I asked what day would be the semi annual sale this year. This sale is usually on the first or second Saturday of December. It's a huge candle sale, and last year, the candles were $8.50 plus you could use a $10 off $30 coupon, so it was an amazing deal (no stacking coupons that day, though). She told me that the semi annual sale was going to be on December 26 this year! That's awful! While it may seem like it's not a big deal in terms of stocking up on Christmas candles because of the existence of the Black Friday deal, the Black Friday deal was terrible last year. It was basically a 2 for $24 day. Everyone complained on their FB page that it was a lame deal for Black Friday, but everyone also acknowledged that the semi annual sale was 10 days later, so it was no big deal to just wait for that. I think this annoyed BBW, because the smart shoppers just didn't shop there on Black Friday. So, they moved it to the end of December which basically means it will be a clearance sale for Christmas candles, which no one is going to want to burn at that point.
So, I really hope the Black Friday deal is better this year. Hopefully the fact that they've moved the semi annual sale to the end of December will make them realize that they need a better incentive to get people into the stores that day. Upon checkout, the sales associate gave me an attractive, trifold flyer that has 4 coupons to be used throughout the holidays including a $10 off $30 or more, a free gift with any $10 purchase, a free Bath Fizzy, and a Free Aromatherapy item. I hope this info helps out all the BBW fans.

Oh thank you TenderMercies for all the good info on up coming sales!
Well I burned my cinnamon pumpkin candle today....no problems at all! Let it go for exactly 3hrs...no drowning wicks. I had such a bad experience yrs back that I haven't been in BBW since way back then LOL!
I did get those coupons with my purchase the other day but no other freebies![]()

I also got the coupon book with my order yesterday. Right now I am burning chestnuts and clove for the first time-ooh does that smell nice. I have it in my pumpkin pedestal-looks beautiful, pooled beautifully-no problems at all.Just ordered their Fresh Balsam (which I love) and my second Winter (packaging has a cute bear on it). They may come out with some other packaging for Christmas too!

For many years all the BBW near me started their semi annual sale after Christmas. Last year it was almost like 2 days after Christmas or the year before. But since I have been aware of the winter semi annual sale it was always after Christmas. I guess they did things dfferently at some point with regard to that particular sale?? It would be cool if they reverted back to having the semi annual sale right before Christmas

As I said before, I'm new to bbw candles but must say that what I have burned so far has impressed me both scent wise and burn wise. Cranberry Woods was so nice-love balsam fir and winter as well. On amazon found a champagne toast which smells wonderfu; too. Cant wait to try all

I used to get coupons in the mail but I just realized it's been awhile since they sent them to me. I'll have to check as they may only give them with a purchase.

Couple updates on this: The semi-annual sale and the $8.50 candle sale are not the same. Last year, the big candle sale was on Saturday, December 3 and the semi-annual sale started the day after Christmas. The sales associate said that the semi-annual sale would start the day after Christmas this year, which seems to fit the tradition, but she did not say when the big candle sale was happening. If they stick to their usual tradition, it should be on Saturday, December 2, so hopefully we can still stock up.
Also, I forgot to mention that she said that they would be adding new Christmas candles tomorrow, October 8. I just looked on their website, and it looks like they've already started sneaking in some more holiday candles including Spruce, Twisted Peppermint, Tis the Season, and Merry Mimosa. My fingers are crossed that we see two test candles that they haven't added yet from their Camp Winter collection, Snow Mountain Lodge and Frozen Lake.
Considering they are doing a buy 2 get 2 deal this weekend, tomorrow may be a good day to shop if these new candles drop. They are also doing free shipping on their website with a $30 purchase for those who don't have access to a local store, so even better. Thanks!
