wow!!! the email said "limit 15" but i guess that they don't adhere to that much then!

i posted about the sale in viewpoints - i am not a candle person because they never seem to be all they claim to be. my mom and i were talking about how we used to buy candles and then end up with half a jar of nothing but wax because the wick is gone. the only time i buy them now is if they are on clearance to use in case of emergency. i have a supply of them in my linen closet for this.

I had 4 $10 off of $30 coupons plus had a coupon for a 'free item' up to $10 if you spent $25.........so I purchased 16 candles for $5.50 each WOW!!! and used my 'free' item (I asked if I could use it on a candle and was told it had to be 'retail value of $10 or less...so no go on the candle) for shea cat socks!! Not quite sure what I'm going to do with all these candles...but surely if I use them for gifts that's SO MUCH better than a flashlight or poopouri that the Q is hawking as a 'cheap' gift every 5 minutes!! Plus didn't have to pay shipping! heh Or maybe add to gifts I already have....or keep them...or save for next year! Great also that they gave me cardboard storage thingies for them so they'll store easily without risk of breaking.

I went to the closest BBW store to me which is a 5 min drive in a strip mall so no risk of dealing with 'mall' traffic...I think I went around 11am and it was pretty well picked through, BUT there were a lot to choose from at that point. I'm sure at this point of the day they are pretty much sold out!

I called this morning and had them put six aside for me, then when in a picked them up. Got the scents to order from a list online. Some were out, so I took what I could get and they were wrapped and waiting for me. The store was packed.

My daughter just got back from BBW....she said the only candles they had in the entire store were the holiday ones...she wanted to purchase more of a variety-sounds like they're trying to unload their holiday candles. Very deceptive, though, offering $8.00 sale without saying holiday only. Wondering if any of your stores had more selection....

I went to a store that wasn't in a mall this evening. They had plenty of stock and lots of non-holiday candles available. I was able to get all the scents that I wanted (12). I had a coupon at home, but decided going home to grab the coupon would put me 30 minutes behind, so I'll use it before the end of the year on hand soap. I was just happy to get $8 candles.

One lady was clogging up the line because she was on her cell phone at the register making the sales clerk wait while she checked her email and all the rebate sites for a coupon code. I thought that was so rude. They finally yelled out to the rest of the customers to make sure your coupons were out and ready to go when you approach the register.

Of all the scents, I'm really loving the Banana Nutmeg Bread Pudding.
