I did it! I put out my autumn decorations yesterday. It felt good to do a thorough cleaning and putting away my summer things anxiously awaiting the first day of Autumn. I don't do a lot of decorating, just strategically placing pumpkins/flowers/berries all through my rooms and packing away my bunnies and birds' nests. Okay, I'm readyWoman Wink

Re: Autumn Decorating

[ Edited ]

Yes, I too am now, ready to start switching over. With weather changing, outdoors feeling and starting to look a bit different, late summer into early fall, here in CT...and today a gloomy, rainy day in store...sighhhhhh, aNOTHer one!! I really, really do love to go with the flow of what's really happening with my seasons out my window....nature transitions from one month to the next much more subtley, and with nuance, than retail will have you rush into things, just so they can sell Halloween stuff early...I personally, don't want to miss any of it.

Time to change from my summer beachy flameless candles back to ivory, take the blues/coastal themed things away and put out more ivories, neutrals. I live in a CT Coastal town, so I always have a little, but seasonal, coastal vibe going on...but bringing in the early fall stuff.

Time to go out to my seasonal storage, unpack the Valerie starry night pumpkins. But those dang things, unfortunately eat up batteries every 10 days to 2 wks on timer mode. I'll maybe just have to turn them off and on...which is a pain and disappointing but oh well. Time to also stock up on new batteries!!

My summer annuals outdoors on my deck are still in full force and will remain...I'll add a few real pumpkins this week.

My autumn decorations have been up for 2 weeks. It will be fall leaf peeping season here soon. I don't decorate for Halloween, just for fall in general.

@Effie54   Me too!  This is the week to change my decor from summer to fall.

Here in AZ the weather is still hot but I went out this morning and the temps were in the 80's (that's just a "tease" as they will rise again).

However, in a few weeks, beautiful weather will begin and my house will be ready to reflect the "****** in the air."

It's always a good feeling to get that done. I've done some of my outside fall stuff (even though it's still hot as blazes here Smiley Frustrated), and I will do my inside next week. I love fall decor; I keep it out until the weekend after Thanksgiving.

@Carolina925 , I haven't started at my home yet but I did decorate my mom's Nursing Home room this morning. I decorate her room for the holidays and what ever season it is.

@pdlinda  I enjoy decorating for the various times of the year. Fall is lovely in New England.....the temperature is so cool. I do love Arizona as well though.....it's stunning!

I'll wait until October for autumn decorations.  My A/C hasn't been working so I haven't wanted to do the deep cleaning that I like to do before changing out my deocr.  I'm hoping it gets repaired this week.  Fingers crossed!

I normally wait until October 1 to put out my fall decorations but I couldn't wait and did it last week.
