Way too formal for my lifestyle.

@stevieb   I adore this blue themed decor in this Blue Ridge home and thank you for sharing them with us.

The blue is so soothing throughout!  Love that first dining area with a beautiful wooded view!

Lovely, but not for me.

Re: At Home in the Blue Ridge...

I'm not really a fan of pale blue so I don't use it in my home.

I do like the foyer and the two dining spaces with views. Very nice!

The living room is too formal, and the bedroom has too many plates on the walls. Don't understand that in a bedroom anyway.

Light Blue is a color I don't use in my own home, but do like it when I see it in other homes.

It works here, however I do not care for all of the plates on the wall in the bedroom, very strange, but do love the other rooms, especially the Dining Room.

They do like their lamps and light fixtures.

Other than that, there are some really lovely items in this home.

I do love that large tapestry hanging in what appears to be the foyer.   I really enjoy tapestries or interesting textiles as dramatic wall hangings.

However, the two sets of lights bothers me a bit.   The one set on the wall and the other a set of table lamps on the cabinet.   I might have preferred shorter lamps on the cabinet, perhaps a set of shorter lamps whose bases are decorative porcelain pieces.  Or perhaps just one placed on the left hand side.

There is a lot of light blue, which I find to be a cold color on colder days, so I would not have so much of it in my house.  They have used it very well in elegant fashion, but just not my style.
