I have already begun to notice that it is getting dark around 7:30PM here, as opposed to the 8:30 PM we usually get dark in July. In my experience it seems that once it starts to get dark earlier it goes pretty quickly into short days. When we had a dog I would take the dog for a run after supper and by late Sept. at least part of the time we would be in the dark. I find the long nights depressing - I love long summer days.

I always think we should fall back the week BEFORE Halloween so that the kids can trick or treat and hour earler!!!
I, for one, hate daylight until 9:30pm and look forward to Standard time!!

@151949 I'm with you. Love the longer evenings. I don't remember that I cared much when I was younger or even that I was as aware of the light the same way when I was younger. It took me a long time to realize that as fast as the days get longer in the spring, they get shorter just as fast as fall approaches.
And it's especially frustrating to me because I don't feel at all safe driving once the sun has set. It's not on my license that I can't drive then but it's certainly on my mind.

I like daylight and warm days of summertime. However, I love the cool crisp autumn, the autumn clothing and the extra hour of sleep.

Folks in northern latitudes are affected most by long/short day/night through the year. Do not notice it so much down here in southern Florida.

I wish the powers that be would pick one time and leave it. As for me I don’t care because we don’t change our clocks. The last thing we need in summer is another hour of sunlight.

I also can't wait til church goes back to 2 services at 8AM and 10AM. In the summer because the snowbirds aren't here and we don't have many attendees they combine into one service at 9AM. By the time we are out of church, go to eat breakfast and get home and changed it's 11 to 11:30 already. We always go to 8AM church when they have it.

I don't even want to think about the clocks changing again.
Here we get just enough light to still see out, until almost 10 pm in late June and early July. On the overcast days now, it is just dark before 9 pm. I hate it.
I could easily live with the sun up by 5 am and not dark till 10 pm every day of the year. I hate the short dark days of winter. I'm ok with it through the holidays, but after that, I want the long days back again beginning January 1st! LOL
