I know someone who has one in her half-bath on the main floor. It is a glass sink with a very modern faucet. Personally, I think her faucet is too space-age looking for my taste (similar in style to the one in the image below) and I like the look of the sink you have selected much better. But she loves it, and that's all that matters. As far as using the sink, no problems, but since it is in a half-bath, it is mainly used for hand washing. It is definitely eye-catching.

Uh uh... reminds me of the spit sink at the dentist...

I liked the "spit sink" a whole lot better than the suction tube they use now........feels like it's gonna take my tonsils out...............

shoekitty, one other thing to think about is, if your mirror is over the sink, will you be able to get close enough to the mirror? I was thinking about this topic as I was cleaning bathrooms today. I was cleaning and also checking out my skin in the various mirrors and lighting to pass the time. Our half bath has a pedestal sink that is large enough that I can't get close to the mirror. Something else to consider.

My eyesight I can't get close enough to sink now, lol! But I do have a wall magnifying mirror. It has 2 sides, one is 10X! I see more than I want o most times. So I will put one innew bat, Thanks for the suggestion, because that is a real issue!

Re: Anyone have a vessel sink, or know someone

The only time I've seen one of these in an actual bathroom was in the hotel room where we spent our wedding night. Very arty type place. Style over substance. I thought the sink was beautiful, and perfect for a one night stay hotel room, but I wouldn't want it in my own house to use on a daily basis. I could see putting it on a guest bathroom, but it wouldn't work with the style of our current house. We're "comfy" rather than "arty".

I don't particularly care for these. They look like something sitting out on the cabinet to me. LOL!!! I also don't want to clean around it, reach in it, or have to worry about chipping the edge. We have a beautiful marble counter with under mount sinks and I LOVE it! It is SOOOOO easy to keep clean and you have so much more usable counter space! It is my dream bathroom counter!

But that's me. Get what YOU love and enjoy it!!!!!

Re: Anyone have a vessel sink, or know someone

shoekitty--I completely forgot to mention the faucet! It's 13 1/2" high--the same as the diameter of the sink. What's the significance? I don't know!{#emotions_dlg.laugh} It has a lever handle and extends over almost to the center of the sink. The faucet is placed at 10 o'clock, (if you were looking at a watch.) Perhaps that helps prevent splashing, I don't know! I just checked the bath where our vessel sink is, and I'm right next to the mirror--so maybe that won't be an issue! I feel your pain--I'm a fuss budget, too!

Re: Anyone have a vessel sink, or know someone

Okay, went to the plumbing place today. I may go with a semi sink. It is half up (like a vessel) half in the vanity. I was going to have lower the cabinet a bit, and the location of the faucet was hard.
