@KKJ I bought a large area air purifier from Homedics this summer when the California fires were so tragically fierce and blowing smoke everywhere. The Homedics purifier did a great job! I'd also suggest reading about different purifiers on the internet to see what aspects of them meet your needs.

@jackthebear Not sure where to buy it yet as still looking up which ones are rated the best. I thought I'd get the Air Doctor as it was rated high and I think Q sold it and maybe still does but still unsure as there's so many out there.

i got one from Amz,
there are 1000's of them, they are rated by size of room and how much air can be circulated in an hour.
if u want to know the name I will tell you, and last dental visit I noticed they had an other high-rated brand in the room as well.

Winnex, ALEN, Austin, don't go cheap ,you want a hepa filter.

@KKJ, I have two, one is Therapure and the other is Live Pure. The Live Pure is larger. I purchased from HSN. I would look to see if they are True Hepa filters, do they need replacements or can be cleaned and reused. Filters can be expensive.

I was helping a friend find one just recently. She lives near some cotton fields and is allergic to that plus she's is having some remodeling done to her house. She needed a good quality large one so we found a Honeywell on Amazon. It has thousands of stellar reviews there. Also on CNET (electronics reviews website) gave it their top choice.
The Honeywell item number on Amazon is B00BWYO53G . Lots of reviews to read there. My friend loves it. Good luck.

@KKJ Could you tell us why you're buying one at this time? It would help to make a recommendation -- allergies? pet dander? kitchen odors? tobacco smoke? general household dust? something unmentionable
?

Consumers Reports always has a listing of the models it tests and a chart on their noise level and air movement and efficiency. Well worth paying the nominal fee to access the online site. Not every brand or model actually works well to clean the air. And you get what you pay for.
