Forgot to mention that I use a lot of fresh flowers in the spring and summer. Last Sunday we had a big party here (a shower actually) and I had twenty dozen tulips all over the house.
I buy fresh flowers throughout the spring and summer.

@151949 ~ I decorate with a lot of natural looking things ~ bird's nests, moss mushrooms, bunches of faux flowers such as forsythia things like that. I just leave all of that out until it's time to decorate for Fall.
I definitely have a lot of Easter out now. I'm thinking about leaving some of the sisal bunnies (from Pier 1) that don't scream Spring out after the holiday. I bought Valerie's two bunnies on the bikes and thought those would be okay to leave out, too. Not sure yet...

Once the little bit of Easter decor gets put away, I don't do anything else til fall.

I only decorate for Christmas and even that is minimal. Rest of the year, just the normal stuff is out.

Just my regular things. I leave one rabbit out. We have real rabbits all year long. They live under our shed and are so cute. This year I am getting rid of anything that collects dust. Want easy clean things. Well not everything.

After Easter its mostly floral decor and a couple of Jim Shore pieces......
In my living room on top of my bookcase I use luminara candles on Valerie Parr Hill pedestals with the floral candle rings. On an end table a photo in an antique frame. I will put a floral arrangement on my dinning room table. And a Valerie Parr Hill flower arrangement on my coffee table....and my Jim Shore spring birds......On another bookcase I have a floral arrangement with a Jim Shore angel and thats where I have a real Slatkin candle...........

I don't have decorations for Easter, so I have nothing to worry about, lol.

Unless you operate a nursery school or kindergarten, why is it necessary to always have some cutesy decor in your house, especially if the occupants are adults? Give it a rest.

@Kachina624 Because it makes a home cozy & warm and personal vs bare & cold. It doesn't have to be "cutsey" for children - it can be very adult and sophisticated.

Because you do it in a sophisticated way so that it is neither "cutesy" nor "kindergarten."
