Re: Afro-centric Chic Meets Minimalistic Glam

Susan Kelechi Watson's NYC apartment was decorated by HomeGoods which is why it looks staged.  Her parents are from Jamaica and she also has Nigerian heritage.  Love her and her fondness for vivid colors.

There is too much stuff in the rooms for me to consider this minimalism.

Re: Afro-centric Chic Meets Minimalistic Glam

I like the rooms a lot (although I would do some tweaking).  I believe she achieved her goal except I'm not really seeing the "Glam" portion (or at least what I perceive of "glam" in home decor).

Re: Afro-centric Chic Meets Minimalistic Glam

Her artwork appears to be Afro, at least to my inexpert eye.

The rest of her home is cleanly decorated, so I suppose it meets the minimal definition.

I'm not sure about the glam, either, as someone said, unless her pieces are the kind of expensive that is not evident at first glance.

Overall, it looks real.  For example, the pillowcases in her bedroom droop just like my own do at home!

I love her on This is Us.
