ANYONE INTERESTED IN A WELSH THROW?

I stumbled on it the other night from Ellen DeGeneres and ordered the beet red and the clover green right away.  I haven't seen them presented yet and there is no video, but I'm mostly Welsh-American and love Welsh blankets.

This one is washable and it's a vintage pattern.  The Welsh have been famous for their weaving.

If anyone is interested, here's the QVC link:

I would prefer a real blanket made in the country it comes from.

When you lose some one you L~O~V~E, that Memory of them, becomes a TREASURE.

Re: ANYONE INTERESTED IN A WELSH THROW?

Thank you, Noel7!   I did see that a few days ago, and was interested, as I am in all things Welsh.  It has such a rustic charm.  My grandfather was born in Barry, near Cardiff in South Wales.  He married an English girl from Hertfordshire, they emigrated to the New World, and the rest is history!

I also love:  Welsh singing, Welsh poetry, Welsh names and language, the old Welsh attachment to a sturdy kind of non-High Church Protestantism, Welsh spoons, and Richard Burton, ha.

I would, too.  In fact, I have two I bought in Wales and carried around for two weeks to get them home.  You can order them online now, they've a fortune and the shipping would be, too.

I will be happy with these throws, the patterns are vintage Welsh, the two I got are the colors of the flag, I won't mind the kitties on them and these are washable.

@Oznell

I am your fan! Woman LOL  I love everything you listed and pretty much anything Welsh!  Two of my grandparents were Welsh-American, born here but fluent in Welsh, as my father had been as a child.

I've passed the love of Wales and the Cymry people along to my daughter and taught her a lot of the music.

Do you celebrate St. David's Day?  If I lost you there, check it out online and I will be happy to provide you with a recipe for Welsh griddle cakes for that holiday.

Theyre a nice generous size,  I hate dinky little throws.

Noel7,  how neat that you are "keeping the Welshness going" in your family!  Love that. Extraordinary that you had Welsh speakers among your close relatives.  Such a lilting, yet soothing language...

I have vaguely heard of St. David's Day, but never celebrated it.  Is that when people wear leeks in their hats?  Of course I will be thrilled to have your griddle cakes recipe, thank you!  I'm so glad I saw your post on the Welsh throws!

Q4U, yes, what a small world it is.  Berkhamstead sounds familiar, I will have to look it up.  My grandmother was born in Hitchin, which I always thought was where Bob Hope was born, but I see Wikipedia is saying he was born in London, or a suburb of London.

I think he definitely had a Hitchin connection with his family, though.  Hertfordshire seems a storybook little county, even if London is ever-encroaching...

Oops, sorry for the mispelling of Berkhamsted...
