Some here might remember designer Caroline Gidiere, esp. through her precious little dog.  What is the technical name of the breed?  Cream miniature dachschund?  "Creampuff littlecakes" breed? (Ha).   He/she IS a tiny creampuff, wouldn't you agree, @luvzchiz ?

Anyway, here's Caroline's house again, this time decorated for Christmas.

I love, love the simplicity of this porch.  The thick, cascading magnolia leaves, the trailing green satin ribbon on a fresh wreath....

That chintz on the settee-- it's by legendary Colefax and Fowler, I think, and is vintage.   Very English room--  cozy, refined, but not off-puttingly "grand".  Hey, there're two dogs here...

Here's a close-up of one little sweetheart, and the chintz.  It has that faded, 'old school' look-- it's almost tone-on-tone....  I must look it up!

The plaster double mirrors are stately, but festive, somehow.

Just for fun, here's a brighter picture of the room when NOT decorated for Christmas.

All the mirrors are beautiful and the pretty tree and the french doors and greens.

And most of all such a pretty dog and the other one is so tiny!

That Colfax and Fowler is often mentioned on the videos of Kirsten and Georg that ECBG introduced me to and I know you too @Oznell.

I miss her. She was not just an online friend for me but also a phone and email and text friend too. I miss her and she was here and then she was not. I think of her especially when I  am watching those wonderful videos.

@Oznell So pretty!

    I love her Christmas decor, especially the front door (I especially love that particular shade of green of the long satin ribbon) and the whole Wreath over the mirror (looks like an entry way table) vignette.

The simple tree decorations...looks like oranges and lights only. The natural simplicity, as you say, of it is lovely.

   I also find this mix of orange and blue unexpected and pretty.

Randomly...I do love when orange is incorporated in a room.

@GingerHead,

I like orange introduced in a room too and orange and blue is pretty together also. I have a velveteen orange pillow just about the color of these pillows shown here.

All the way with you, @on the bay .   Although I didn't have an email and phone relationship with @ECBG like you did, I responded like you did, to her sense of fun and above all, her warmth.

You knew if she engaged you here, it would be kind, informative, positive.  She was soulful and sensitive too, having had some very sad life experiences that she survived gallantly.

Her death surprisingly kind of brought home to me the loss of "real life" friends that I've experienced.  In about the last 15 years, I've lost, one after another, 3 of my dearest friends. In each case the death was quite unexpected, esp. the last 2.  They were the irreplaceable kind of people that we all sensed that @ECBG was....

So it's sad for me too, sweet @on the bay .

   Yes! Your pillows sound lovely.

I keep thinking I need to find some orange and incorporate it somehow but I like too many things and I may end up with a huge mishmash! haha

   I did recently watch a youtube video where the lady was in a gorgeous room with orange walls, it was so pretty it distracted me.

I just pulled up the video and would post a still shot picture but I don't know how....

@Oznell   Love all, especially the two cream furred puppies which can be seen in picture 3.

Thanks for thinking of me. Woofs

@GingerHead ,  of course you have an affinity for orange!  (Surmising that you are an Autumn or at least a Spring!) It does offer such freshness here.

Love that wreath on the mirror too, great look.

@Oznell @on the bay

     I agree the loss of @ECBG was a terrible shock. I too got the feeling that she was a very kind light in this world.

    Losses like hers do make you think about life and how short it all is....So sorry for your losses of your dear friends @Oznell Heart
