Consumer Reports aside... I have two Orecks that make use of the Trueman Cell technology rather than HEPA and I'm reasonably good with them. They do require a bit of maintenance from time to time, but I've had no problems obtaining replacement parts. There are probably better units out there, but I happened across these.

I would wait a bit to see what they bring in, this is usually a winter item. Good luck and smart thinking.

Do they sell Honeywell here?  Mine works very well and i was able to get filters from company.

I have a Germguardian from Costco.  It is about 2 years old and it's still going strong.  I use it in my bedroom.
