@CrazyKittyLvr2 I stick with one look at a time. I agree that it looks too busy and the colors clash.

@CrazyKittyLvr2 My tree went up in the living room the day after Halloween. I've done it early for several years with beaded fruit that can go for both holidays.
This year since I had time I did Valerie's slim glistening tree with old bird themed ornaments, it shines more. White pumpkins are still out bronze candles and magnolia leaves.
Fall items are up until after Thanksgiving. This year It will just be me alone so I will TRY to put less out. I'll change flags, wreaths outside then also
The cemetery is in the next town so I put Holly and red poinsettias in the vases on three family plots. The two seasons so close are just too much to do twice. I did see several other Winter ones out.

We decorate for Christmas after Thanksgiving.

I would assume they put up the Christmas decorations when they had time. I don't think you can assume it was their goal.

That's exactly what we do. I don't have much fall stuff although it's my favorite season but it's been out about a month. We'll do Xmas decorating on Black Friday too. I usually take everything down the day after Xmas or the first weekend at the latest.

@greamy wrote:I never combine the holidays. I love my fall decorations and never put a single Christmas out before December 1. Just something I always have done. It is still harvest, fall, until the last day of November at my house. I love that I get 3 months of enjoyment from my fall decorations.
I feel the same way.

One at a time for me.

i do one at a time! I put out my Fall right after Labor Day, and then the day after Thanksgiving, I change it out to my Christmas Decor.......I can't imagine it would look nice combined...

For me when I decorate indoors it is one holiday at a time. I would never mix two different holidays together (inside or out).

I'm with the general consensus here, I would never mix decor......my hubby would think I lost my mind as I am neurotic about it, LOL! I will also change my fall decor to Christmas decor Thanksgiving weekend. I'm kind of excited about it. Last night was the very first time I saw a couple of houses all decorated for Christmas with trees and lights! It was pretty to see and fitting as the weather was very chilly in the northeast this week ![]()
